UW geneticist and Wisconsin Academy Fellow James Crow passes away
Wisconsin Academy staff, Council members, and Fellows are morning the lost of Wisconsin Academy Fellow and legendary geneticist James F. Crow, who passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 4, two weeks shy of his 96th birthday.
Over a career that has spanned more than 70 years, Crow was recognized as a leader and statesman of science. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, The American Philosophical Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the World Academy of Art and Science. He is an honorary Fellow of the Japan Academy and he became a Fellow of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters in 1984.
