Diane Mayerfeld is the senior outreach specialist for UW-Madison Division of Extension. She helps Extension agents and other educators learn about sustainable production practices such as rotational grazing, organic agriculture, and cover cropping; as well as sustainable social approaches such as community food systems. Her research area is silvopasture, an agroforestry practice that integrates grazing with trees. Mayerfeld has a Master's degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and has a PhD in Environment and Resources from UW-Madison. She works on the UW-Madison campus, at the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems.
