With over 20 years of experience in librarianship, Nyama Y. Reed is proud to serve as the 2022 President of the Wisconsin Library Association (WLA). She has led the Whitefish Bay Public Library as Director for eight years, having moved to Wisconsin from Michigan in 2011.
Being interested in administration and wishing to make a difference, she promptly joined WLA as a member and became involved as a volunteer leader. Her love of local history and genealogy, coupled with her dedication to Wisconsin libraries, has inspired her to delve into the history of librarianship in our state and into WLA history. As with all things library related, she loves to share these passions with others to build a strong future for Wisconsin and its libraries.
