Paul Strong

Paul Strong has been the Forest Supervisor of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in northern Wisconsin since July 2010.  In that role, he oversees the administration of the 1.5 million acre national forest, around 200 permanent employees, a roughly $18 million budget, and a myriad of natural resources programs. Strong has worked for the Forest Service for 23 years in various capacities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Prior to his government service, he was employed at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin as a biologist for the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute. He holds degrees in wildlife resources and biology from the University of Maine and Oklahoma State University with a Ph.D. granted in 1985. Strong is native of Maine, but a 23-year resident of Wisconsin. He lives in Oneida County with his family.
