The Anatomy of Book Art: With/Without Appendix
Visual artist JoAnna Poehlmann and Milwaukee Art Museum chief educator Barbara Brown Lee, both Wisconsin Academy Fellows, engage in a lively discussion entitled, The Anatomy of Book Art: With/Without Appendix at the Milwaukee Art Museum. JoAnna Poehlmann's work, represented in major museum and library collections worldwide, is a rare combination of superb draftsmanship, meticulous observation, and droll humor; her drawings, collages, and artists' books are infused with her appreciation of art, literature, and the natural world. Barbara Brown Lee has been a fixture at the Milwaukee Art Museum for over forty years, leading gallery talks, directing docent programs, and training volunteers. This Academy Evenings conversation is held in partnership with the Milwaukee Art Museum and is free to both museum and Wisconsin Academy members with proof of membership.
