Being selected as a Fellow is the highest recognition conferred by the Wisconsin Academy. Fellows are honored for demonstrating the highest levels of artistic, scientific, written (letters*) and service accomplishments, or some cross-disciplinary combination of these in their careers; and for their dedication to respectful/civil discourse and public service that benefits the wellbeing of the people of Wisconsin.
Nominations for the Wisconsin Academy Fellow Awards are accepted by filling out an online form and or sending a completed PDF form via email to [email protected]. Nominees will be reviewed by a panel of current Fellows and Academy Board members before approval by the full Wisconsin Academy Board. Each nomination is eligible for consideration in two consecutive selection processes. (i.e., New 2025, and those submitted for consideration, but not selected in 2024 will be eligible for consideration and induction in the Spring of 2026) Nominators may update/revise materials before the next selection process, but it is not required for reconsideration of a candidate. If not selected after two consecutive cycles, candidates will need to be re-nominated for full consideration.

*The Letters category is broadly defined and meant to include writers, poets, storytellers, historians, lawyers, philosophers, and those who study or apply language to inform, inspire, or communicate ideas with others.
