The Academy strives to make our art and writing courses accessible to interested Wisconsin residents regardless of their financial situation. Wisconsin residents who would like to attend Academy Courses but find the cost of registration to be a barrier can apply for a limited number of need-based scholarships (one per class). Wisconsin residents enrolled in public assistance programs are especially encouraged to apply for a scholarship.
Application Instructions
To apply for a scholarship, please fill out and submit the form below no later than three weeks in advance of the date the requested course begins.
In addition to including your name, contact information, and requested course details, please provide us with a brief description of how this course will improve your personal or professional development. We often receive more applications than we have scholarships to award. We consider every application, evaluate them based on the criteria below, and award scholarships as funding allows. Please describe your situation, addressing these three criteria as they apply:
- Your desire to participate in this specific course: tell us briefly why you want to take this course and what you hope to gain from it.
- Financial barriers to your participation: tell us briefly about your situation (no need to go into specific details of finances).
- Barriers to access that may impact your participation in art and/or writing: e.g. do you identify as a member of one or more historically marginalized communities?
If you have questions about the scholarship or application process, please contact Operations Manager Matt Rezin.
