Marianne Lubar is the Vice President of Arts for the Wisconsin Academy Board of Directors. Lubar has served as president of the Florentine Opera Company, the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation, and the Contemporary Art Society of the Milwaukee Art Museum. Lubar continues to serve on the boards of the Milwaukee Art Museum, where she chairs the Acquisitions and Collections Committee, and the Florentine Opera. She also serves on the boards of the Friends of the Golda Meir Library at UWM and the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and is a founding member and president of the board of the Jewish Museum Milwaukee. She has received the Benjamin Franklin Award from the Milwaukee Public Library and, with her husband Sheldon, received the State of Wisconsin Governor’s Award in Support of the Arts. They have four children and eleven grandchildren. Lubar was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Leadership in the Arts by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013.
