Explore reading and writing various forms of poetry inspired by the visual arts as well as poetry that is in some way visual itself with instructor Amanda Ngoho Reavey. For the first part of class, we’ll get inspired by reading and discussing essays on craft and works by other poets, such as Tom Philipps, Cecilia Vicuña, Apollinaire, and responding to prompts. For the second part of class, we’ll workshop drafts of our own new poems with mindfulness and compassion. You will leave the workshop with drafts of new poems, thoughtful feedback and tips for revision. This class is open to all writing levels. Registration for this course is limited to twelve participants.
