Join the Wisconsin Academy at the table for coursed conversation inside the James Watrous Gallery to learn from experts, artists, and each other. This unique experience brings the visual and culinary arts together to offer an exclusive opportunity to interact with exhibiting artists, S.V. Medaris and Craig Blietz over a multi-course brunch. Immersed in complex cow compositions, expansive woodcuts, and tasty local eats, guests can expect conversations about food, animal agriculture, and artist inspiration and technique at this edition of Art Bites.

Menu: Assorted hand-pies, bacon, yogurt bar, pastries, fruit, coffee and tea

Registration is $25 for the general public and $20 for Academy members. Registration is required as seating is limited.

Contributors

Craig Blietz lives and works in northeast Wisconsin and is recognized for his paintings representing American agrarian landscapes. Blietz is a graduate of the University of Denver and Harrington College of Design. He continued his art studies with four years of academic training at the School of Representational Art in Chicago.

Jody Clowes is the director of the Wisconsin Academy's James Watrous Gallery. With years of experience developing and curating exhibitions, running gallery programs, and writing about art, her background includes senior positions at Milwaukee Art Museum, Detroit's Pewabic Pottery, and the UW-Madison's Design Gallery.

Bethany Jurewicz is the director of operations and events at the Wisconsin Academy.

S.V. (Sue) Medaris lives on a farm in the Driftless area of Southern Wisconsin with her family, and raises chickens, dogs, cats, peafowl, turkeys, and pigs from which she draws inspiration for life and art.
