Join us for a reading with Bruce Dethlefsen, former Wisconsin Poet Laureate, as he discusses his evolution as a poet and shares his wisdom for emerging writers. His most recent book Small Talk was published by Little Eagle Press in 2014. Read one of Dethlefsen's poems and an interview with him in the Wisconsin Academy magazine, Wisconsin People & Ideas.

Free to the public with advance registration, this special talk is presented by the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters in partnership with Mead Public Library Foundation.

Reception: Please join us for some light refreshment and discussion from 6:00-7:00pm prior to Bruce Dethlefsen's presentation. The reception will be in The Loft on the 3rd floor of Mead Public Library. The lecture and discussion will be from 7:00-8:30pm in the Rocca Meeting Room on the 1st floor of the library.

Bruce Dethlefsen was the Wisconsin Poet Laureate from 2010-2012. A retired educator and public library director living in Westfield, Dethlefsen began his two-year term as Wisconsin Poet Laureate at the beginning of 2011.
