In partnership with the Mead Library Foundation, the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters presents Dee Hall, co-founder and managing editor of the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism for an Academy Talk this fall at the Mead Public Library. Hall will discuss the mission of the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, highlighting their 2018 summer/fall series “Undemocratic: Secrecy and Power vs. The People.” The series examines the state of Wisconsin’s democracy in an era of gerrymandering, secret campaign money, restrictive voting laws and legislative maneuvers that weaken the power of regular citizens to influence government. The series was reported by University of Wisconsin-Madison journalism students as part of an investigative reporting class led by Hall.
Presented in partnership with the Mead Public Library Foundation, this Academy Talk is free and open to the public with advance online registration. Arrive early and join us for a 6:00 pm reception.
