The Academy strives to make our art and writing courses accessible to interested Wisconsin residents regardless of their financial situation. Wisconsin residents who would like to attend Academy Courses but find the cost of registration to be a barrier can apply for a limited number of need-based scholarships (one per class). Wisconsin residents enrolled in public assistance programs are especially encouraged to apply for a scholarship.
To apply for a scholarship, please fill out and submit the form below no later than three weeks in advance of the date the requested course begins. In addition to including your name, contact information, and requested course details, please provide us with a brief description of how this course will improve your personal or professional development.
Scholarships will be awarded according to level of need on a first-come, first-served basis. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than two weeks before the first course begins. Only one application per student, per semester will be accepted. Applicants who are not accepted for a particular course are encouraged to apply again for similar courses in the future. Scholarships cover the cost of the course only. Equipment such as computers for online courses, travel or lodging expenses for place-based courses, and materials required for certain courses are entirely the responsibility of the applicant.
