Scott Lowery is a poet, musician, and retired teacher, who grew up in Minneapolis and lived almost thirty years in the Driftless area of southeastern Minnesota. His chapbook, Mutual Life, observes small-town life against a looming backdrop of climate and political change. The collection placed second in the 2024 Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets Chapbook Contest. His poems have appeared in Rattle, Prairie Schooner, Great River Review, Sky Island Review, Bramble, RockPaperPoem, and elsewhere. His debut chapbook, Empty-Handed (Red Dragonfly), is newly available in an expanded second edition. He and his wife now live in Milwaukee, near their young grandchildren.
