
Chia Youyee Vang is a Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. An internationally recognized scholar, her research focuses on the Cold War in Asia, Hmong history, and refugee migration. She has authored four books, including Prisoner of Wars, Fly Until You Die: An Oral History of Hmong Pilots in the Vietnam War, Hmong America: Reconstructing Community in Diaspora, and Hmong in Minnesota. She also co-edited the anthology Claiming Place: On the Agency of Hmong Women.
