David John Paradise was born and raised in Milwaukee but left Wisconsin to spend six years of schooling in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Returning home to pursue a doctorate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, David taught both composition and creative writing, and served as fiction editor for the literary magazine cream city review. In his fiction, David writes about faith and family, and has been supported by literary organizations Write On, Door County and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. As a scholar, his recent doctoral work has explored the field of postsecular literary criticism, a field he is excited to present on at the upcoming 2027 MLA Conference in Los Angeles. www.davidjohnparadise.com
