Andy Richards is a retired higher education administrator. He most recently served as the Director of Discovery to Product (D2P) at UW-Madison. D2P helps faculty, staff, and students to commercialize their innovations. Prior to this role, he served as Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education at UW-Madison and the Chief of Staff to the UW System President. Before re-joining the UW System, he was Associate Vice Chancellor for Business and Financial Services at UW-Milwaukee.
Richards has a MBA from UW-Milwaukee and a MA in public policy and administration from UW-Madison. In his free time, he enjoys biking, travel, reading and volunteering for various nonprofit and civic organizations. Richards is a past president of the board of directors of Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) and the Wisconsin Academy Foundation.
