Catherine Jagoe

Catherine Jagoe is a writer and translator based in Madison. She has authored or translated ten books, including two books of poetry, Praying to the God of Small Things (2024), and Bloodroot (2016). Her memoir Unbelonging: A Life in Search of Home will be published by the University of Wisconsin Press in August 2026. Her creative work and translations have appeared in numerous literary magazines and been featured on National Public Radio’s The Writer’s Almanac and To the Best of Our Knowledge. She is a contributor to Wisconsin Public Radio’s Wisconsin Life audio essay series.
