Lisa Potswald

Lisa Potswald has forty years of experience in federal, county, city and town government.  She previously worked for St. Louis County, Minnesota as a social worker, planner and Deputy County Administrator.  She then worked for the City of Duluth, Minnesota as City Administrator and as a Department Head. Potswald worked for FEMA during the 2012 flood disaster in Duluth. She moved to Madeline Island (Town of La Pointe) in 2012 and worked as the Planning and Zoning Director for the Town until 2016. She is now the Town Administrator.

Potswald has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota and has completed all the classwork toward a Master’s Degree in Management from the College of St. Scholastica. She is attending the conference representing the Town’s Energy Committee, a committee of Town citizens who have worked for the past nine years on energy solutions for the Town.
