Dr. Sonya Newenhouse is President of Community Car LLC, Wisconsin’s first Carshare Organization, which has more than 1300 members and 14 cars. Author of the book, EnAct: Steps to Greener Living, Newenhouse also founded Madison Environmental Group, an award winning sustainability consulting firm and WasteCap Wisconsin, a nonprofit helping businesses recycle. A serial eco-entrepreneur, Newenhouse is currently developing a line of NewenHouses, super-insulated, sustainable, small-kit homes designed to Passive House certification standards. She lives in the prototype with her husband Cecil Wright and son Addisu in Viroqua, WI. Newenhouse has served on numerous boards from Madison Community Foundation to Sustain Dane and is currently a board member of Forward Community Investments.
