Steve Wildeck is Vice Chancellor Emeritus of UW Colleges and UW Extension, and served as the chief business officer of the institutions for 19 years. His administrative and financial experience within the UW System runs deep and includes roles as assistant dean and associate lecturer at UW-Rock County, executive director at UW System Shared Services, and interim vice president for finance at UW System Administration. He states that his proudest professional moment came in June, 1979 upon receiving his first paycheck from UW-Madison, where he worked as a physical plant groundskeeper. He retired from the UW System in 2020.
Wildeck has an MBA in management and a BS in agriculture, both from UW-Madison. He and his wife, Teresa, reside in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.
