Ashley Roberston received her MA in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she specialized in real estate and placemaking. She came to Madison in 2013 to work as a city planning consultant with local firm Vandewalle & Associates (2013-2017). It was during this time that Robertson launched her art career in Madison. Now a full-time artist, Robertson's unique 3D cityscapes, portraits, and drawings blend Afrofuturist narratives and fantasy with bold architectural linework and city forms.
As a member of the Madison community, Robertson served on the board of Dane Arts (2017) and was an Artist-in-Residence at 100 State (2017). Her work has shown in venues throughout the midwest and east coast, including a solo show at Strivers Gardens Gallery in New York City (2016). She is currently traveling to explore and gathering inspiration from the diversity of cityscapes throughout the United States.
