Bethann Moran-Handzlik received a BA in Graphic Design and Philosophy from St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Working from direct observation, her work reflects the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Moran-Handzlik has been the recipient of a Hudson River Fellowship awarded by the Grand Central Atelier, NY (2014) and a La Napoule Artist Residency in France, awarded by the La Napoule Foundation (2016). She has painted during her travels to Scotland and throughout Europe and has had the privilege to copy masterworks at the Scottish National Gallery and the National Gallery, London, among others. Painting at the Aldo Leopold Foundation Center in Baraboo, WI, is one of the many plein air adventures she enjoys each year.
Moran-Handzlik teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Prior to this, she was Artist in Residence at Skidmore College, NY. With her husband, poet Patrick Moran, she has three wonderful children.
