Diane Mayerfeld is the sustainable agriculture coordinator for UW Extension. She helps Extension agents and other educators learn about sustainable production practices such as rotational grazing, organic agriculture, and cover cropping; as well as sustainable social approaches such as community food systems. Her research area is silvopasture, an agroforestry practice that integrates grazing with trees. Mayerfeld has a Master's degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and is currently working on a PhD in Environment and Resources at UW-Madison. She works on the UW-Madison campus, at the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems.
