Meet the artists and curator and celebrate the Vulnerable Bodies exhibit on its final weekend. 

Contributors

Demitra Copoulos is an artist based in Milwaukee working primarily in mixed-media sculpture. In her studio practice, she focuses on the human form in its many facets, physical, psychological, and physiological.

Erica Hess lives and works in Appleton. She received her M.F.A at UW-Madison, working in printmaking, fibers, and sculpture. She is a co-founder of the Madison collective printmaking space, Polka Press, as well as co-owner of Hello! Loom, a company that creates laser cut looms for easy, convenient, and portable weaving. 

Yevgeniya Kaganovich is a Belarus-born, Milwaukee-based artist whose hybrid practice encompasses jewelry and metalsmithing, sculpture and installation. Kaganovich received her MFA from the State University of New York, New Paltz, and her BFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

J Myszka Lewis is a visual artist working across printmaking, fiber arts, and sculpture. Her work exposes tensions between the industrial and the individual, and addresses conceptions of certainty, familiarity, stability, and labor.

Masako Onodera is an artist who utilizes craft techniques and connects the audience emotionally to the materials and practices employed. Her creations suggest an experience of the body altered by the tactile and visual characteristics of the object.

Valaria Tatera is an installation artist, activist, and lecturer whose works investigates the intersection of ethnicity, gender, commerce, and the environment.
