Perkins will be joined by artists Jennifer Bastian, Ashley Hartman Annis, and Melissa Mursch-Rodriguez. This event is hosted in partnership with Communication, a sober, all-ages arts and music nonprofit based in Madison. Masks are required for this event.

Contributors

Jennifer Bastian is a neurodivergent and disabled artist, arts administrator, and mother. All of Bastian's current bodies of work focus on grief, community, self discovery, and ritual. She uses the processes of analog photography, fibers work, publishing & community building to address those themes. Bastian looks to create objects and experiences that resonate with the human yearning for safety and acceptance.

Ashley (they / she) is a full spectrum birthworker, a somatic practitioner, a fertility/reproduction educator, and a zine maker in Madison, WI. When they're not talking about cervical fluid or squeezing hips at a birth you can probably find them snuggling one of their furry friends, making tea, in the bathtub, or thrifting.

Melissa Mursch-Rodriguez is a Milwaukee-based creative whose practice exists between the realms of fiber arts, zinemaking, poetry, and programming. She finds herself at the intersections of identities as a mixed chicana queer woman, which she examines through her practice.

Stephen Perkins is an artist and independent art historian specializing in alternative artists’ periodicals and printed matter. He curates his home-based gallery, Subspace, from his extensive archive of artists’ printed matter and prints.
