Join us for a buffet dinner and cash bar on Friday night to kick-off our 2015 Member Meeting.
During the evening, three of our Wisconsin Academy Fellows will reflect on the importance of the Wisconsin Idea at the Wisconsin Academy:
- R. Alta Charo: Warren P. Knowles Professor of Law and Bioethics at UW-Madison
- Kathy Kelsey Foley: director of Wausau’s Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum
- John Gurda: historian and columnist at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
A silent auction will follow dinner.

Artists' talk 6:30pm.The Wisconsin Academy’s James Watrous Gallery continues to be one of the only places in the state to exclusively feature the work of Wisconsin artists past and present and engage the public with work intersecting with areas of science and literature. Yoon and Byers will speak to their art and process in the gallery at 6:30pm. The Gallery exhibition and reception are open to the public.

Based on the life of pioneering astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, Silent Sky concerns a woman at the forefront of both her field and her time. Family, music, love, and history come alive beneath a blanket of stars in this magical story of a scientist's quest for the heavens in a society determined to keep a woman in her place.
